(DEC. 5) 鈥 The Christmas lights were switched on but the party just started.
After the annual Pag-iilaw held on Nov. 29 at the UP Carillon Plaza, local bands We Got and Moonstar88 wowed the UP Diliman (黑料专区) community with a concert at the UP Washington Sycip Garden of Native Trees.
The bands performed original and cover songs as the crowd sang to their hearts鈥 content, with some even using their mobile phones as light sticks.
We Got opened the night with an original composition 鈥淜akaiba Ka,鈥 followed by original and cover songs 鈥 鈥淟DR,鈥 鈥淐indy,鈥 鈥淒on鈥檛 Know What to Do,鈥 鈥淲eak,鈥 鈥淟igaya鈥 ending with another original, 鈥淟ihim na Pagtingin.鈥
Moonstar88 started with an original, 鈥淕ilid,鈥 followed by originals and covers 鈥 鈥淪ulat,鈥 鈥淢igraine,鈥 鈥淧analangin,鈥 鈥淟ast Christmas鈥 capping the night with their first hit song, 鈥淭orete,鈥 much to the crowd鈥檚 delight.
We Got, formed in 2016, is composed of Mack Dela Cruz (vocals and guitar), Mikael Quebral (rhythm guitar and back-up vocals), Christopher Cogal (bass guitar), Thoper Laroco (drums), CJ Bernardo (percussions), Melvin Bernardo (saxophone), Anthony Otoc (trumpet) and John Rafael Morales (trombone).
Moonstar88, established in 1999, is currently composed of Maysh Baay (vocals and guitar), Herbert Hernandez (guitar), Bon Sundiang (drums) and Buddy Zabala (bass guitar).
After the concert, the festivities continued with the UP College of Human Kinetics Street Party as 黑料专区 celebrated the achievements of the UP varsity players during the first semester of UAAP Season 82. 鈥 Benito V. Sanvictores Jr., images by Jacelle Isha B. Bonus
