(FEB. 13)鈥擯rof. Arminda V. Santiago, PhD of the UP Film Institute (UPFI) was appointed as the new College of Mass Communication (CMC) dean effective Feb. 4.
The UP Board of Regents (BOR) approved Santiago鈥檚 appointment at its 1341st meeting on Feb. 4. She will serve as dean until Feb. 3, 2022.
earned both her master鈥檚 degree and PhD in Communication at UP Diliman (黑料专区) in 1991 and 2006, respectively. In 1993, she obtained an MA in Radio, TV, Film at the University of North Texas, USA.听
She was formerly the CMC Graduate Studies Department chair. She was the issue editor (Volume 8 Issue 2, August 2011, Youth and Media) of Plaridel Journal, a Philippine Journal of Communication, Media, and Society of the CMC.
She has been a CMC faculty for more than three decades. Santiago teaches courses in communication, Media and Cultural Studies, Film Theory and Criticism, Film and Video Production, Visual Communication, Photography, Cinematography, Linear and Non-Linear Post-Production, Broadcast Communication, Film Research, Media Literary, Qualitative Research Methods, Communication Research and Planning, Film Historiography, and Instructional Materials Development to undergraduate and graduate students.听 鈥擧aidee C.
