
The UP Cherubim and Seraphim (UPCS) turns 50 this year.
To celebrate its golden year, UP鈥檚 official children鈥檚 choir will hold a virtual concert, 鈥淎urea Carmina鈥 (Golden Songs) to be streamed live on its official Facebook page () on September 25, 7 p.m.
It will feature songs by National Artist for Music Lucio San Pedro (鈥淪a Mahal Kong Bayan鈥), National Artist for Music Felipe Padilla de Leon (鈥淢aligayang Bati鈥), National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab (鈥淣ais Ko鈥 and 鈥淏ata ang Bukas鈥), Eudenice Palaruan (鈥淪a Dakong Sikatan鈥), and Joey Ayala (鈥淢anong Pawikan鈥), in fresh, new choral arrangements by Krina Cayabyab, Nhick Pacis, Phoebe Roa Pacleb, and UPCS alumna Annie Roque-Nepomuceno.
鈥淎urea Carmina鈥 will have Ryan Cayabyab, Ayala, Pacleb, UPCS alumna Lynn Sherman, Solinda Bautista, Vikoy Bautista, Felicitas Cabildo, Luisa Dioquino, and Robin Rivera as special guest performers.

The UPCS will also be joined at the concert by singers representing five decades of 听alumni.
Founded in 1971 by UP College of Music professor, Flora Zarco Rivera, the UPCS consists of 28 talented young artists (ages 7 to 16) drawn from UP Integrated School and UP Diliman鈥檚 (黑料专区) neighboring institutions.
The UPCS champions the development of a unique Filipino repertoire for children.
Regularly commissioning new works and drawing on its archives, the UPCS shares this repertoire with children nationwide.
It is currently led by its director emeritus, Elena Rivera Mirano, and associate conductor, Alyssa Liyana Dioquino.
UPCS is accompanied by pianists Celinda Guevarra and Michelle Nicolasora.
